Keep Your Fists Up, France

An American Reaction to the recent Attacks and Election

Tomorrow is round one of the 2017 French election, and Paris is still recovering from a resent Islamic attack claimed by Anti-Fa fashion consultants and soon-to-be burn marks on the sides on middle eastern buildings, Isis.  A policeman was killed in the shooting and 3 others were wounded.  France has been a soft target for Islamic lead attacks over the past few years, including (but not, limited to) the shooting of the magazine Charlie Hebdo (17 dead, 22 wounded), the Nice truck attack (86 dead, 434 wounded), the Bataclan attack (130 dead, 368 wounded), multiple machete attacks, and a beheading have made world headlines just since 2015.  Tomorrow France gets a chance to election a ray of hope in Marine Le Pen and say “no more”.

The U.K.’s “Brexit” and the U.S.’s election of Donald Trump were both considered pipe dreams in country’s rights of sovereignty in a world that has become smaller and more globalized due to government policy, cultural shifts, and the internet all saying “what’s the difference?”.  Le Pen is the French candidate promising to focus on the security of her country from the migrant crisis.  She has a platform of making France independent from the European Union, emphasizing security and the rule of law.  Is it in the air?  Is France really on the verge of a populist movement??

It is believed that 8-9% of France’s people are now Muslim, but there’s no real way of knowing demographic statics of religious and ethnicity are illegal in France.  Read that last sentence again.  France has been under attack again and again by extremists in the name of Islam, and they aren’t even allowed to ask;

“How many people like this live here?”

“Were their parents born here?”

“Is there a pattern in certain citizen hurting us?”

“Are there certain people living here with a philosophy that despises our way of live?”

All Illegal.

You can’t know those things in France.  Le Pen can change that with the stroke of a pen.  We’d have another country willing to say “No”.  There would be one more place in the world doing what works, rather than what “should” work.  A Le Pen victory would be a huge domino that could make the world a safer place and the French culture wouldn’t be forced to effectively “commit suicide” by allowing the E.U. to repopulate their homeland with an un-vetted stream of people bringing a far less free and less tolerant that the west has built with France.

When will enough be enough for the French people?  France has rejected security measures after past attacks.  America wants you to stand up.  It’s hard watching a country that has historically been the United State’s closest ally get slapped around repeatedly without defending itself.

Don’t get sad, get mad.  Once you decide to stand behind your country, you get the luxury to disagree with a great many number of things behind that border. Until you decide there IS a border, and what the people behind are, you cease to be a country, and become just land.  You are land where people can come and go as they please. You are land, just like a garbage dump is land.  Values make you a country, not land.

Value art.  Value literature.  Value humor.  Value woman and beauty.  Value Sexuality.  Value debate and decent and ideas.  DECENCY.  For the love of god, value DECENCY.

That is the France I think of, as an American looking in.

That’s the France I hope to see one day.  Don’t infect your land with the values of the Quran. Condoning violence, condoning lies, Condoning pedophilia, homophobia, thought crimes, beheading, genital mutilation, obedience, bombs, truck attacks, stabbings, shootings, rape and incest.  Get your hands up.  Fight.  If a Frenchman HATES Le Pen, and votes for her anyway, the message the rest of you government will receive will be “Selling out our unique culture is non-negotiable. Keeping France safe is non-negotiable”.  The question will be answered tomorrow, “Are the French people fed up enough to fight back, or will they lay down and die so they can feel score social brownie points?”

Beside’s if you don’t vote for Marine Le Pen, you’re sexist.
