Ousted FBI director James Comey will not testify to about alleged ties between Russia and President Trump’s election campaign on Tuesday.
Comey told Senate Intelligence Committee aids he has snubbed the offer, which would have taken place behind closed doors at Capitol Hill.
The Daily Mail confirmed with a committee aid that the former FBI Chief declined the invitation.
Senator Mark Warner also told a TV network that Comey would not be testifying.
Yesterday, on MSNBC, he said: “It is our hope in the not-too-distant future that we can find a time for him to come in and talk to our committee.”
However, it is not know why Comey turned the invitation to speak at the committee.
Trump has fired a warning shot on Twitter, saying “James Comey better hope that there a re no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”
And, the White House has not ruled out the possibility that any of the three know conversations between the pair were recorded.
